The Fur Council of Canada announces the launch of the 2018 edition of REMIX-Canada, an exciting fur fashion design competition that allows fashion students and emerging fashion designers across Canada to explore the creative potential of this luxurious heritage fashion material. REMIX-Canada can lead the winner to participate in the prestigious REMIX-Global, the International Fur Federation (IFF) world competition reuniting the laureates of regional contests around the globe. The event, to be held in Milan, in February 2018, is sponsored by VOGUE Italia through its VOGUE Talents program . Many of the laureates of REMIX-Global are today employed by some of the most prestigious fashion houses in Europe.
Fashion students and designers who would like to participate in REMIX-Canada are invited to submit original designs of three fur pieces before October 13th, when a jury of fur, fashion and retail professionals will choose the First Prize winner and two runners-up. The front-runner will produce three fur creations which she/he will own after a year of eventual promotional activities. He/she will also be invited to Toronto, all expenses paid, to attend Studio NAFA, a week-long creative fur design workshop to explore the endless innovative possibilities of fur guided by experienced fur technicians. North American Fur Auctions (NAFA) is the oldest fur auction house in the world and traces back its roots to our historic Hudson’s Bay Company. NAFA will supply the furs to produce the winner’s competition pieces.
The Fur Council of Canada, IFF-Global and NAFA invite and encourage fashion design students across Canada to participate in REMIX-Canada by sending, before October 13th, 2017 their three original designs and the entry form they can download at http://www.furfashions.com/remix_canada_2018.aspx
