Raccoon Struggles to Find Acceptable Market Levels

March 30, 2015

March 29,2015

The lack of Russian support, traditionally the largest customer of our North American raccoon either through China or Greece, has left a great vacuum in our March raccoon sale. Obviously, there are unsold inventories in the hands of manufacturers in skins or garments that are earmarked for the Russian market.

We are hopeful that with the stabilization of the Russian ruble and relative peace in Ukraine, we will have better selling opportunities later in the year.

On the positive side, we did have a number of Italian fashion houses buy larger sizes, select qualities, and better colours for sampling, which if successful, will help us in the near future.

We adopted a selling policy to maintain the price integrity of the product in an attempt to look out for the best interest of all of our shippers.
