NAFA House will continue to build NAFA’s development in the Chinese Fur Market
September 25, 2017 // Beijing, China – On September 23, 2017, North American Fur Auctions opened the doors to a brand-new office facility in Tong’erpu, Liaoning Province, located in the northeast of China. NAFA customers, local officials, and friends of the trade were invited to toast NAFA’s new home with food, drinks, music, models and of course fur!
NAFA’s Senior Vice President of Marketing, Rob Cahill, kicked off the event with welcoming remarks, followed by Mr. Yang Weixing, Vice Director of the Tong’erpu Management Committee. Standing in front of a backdrop displaying NAFA’s new Heritage Campaign, Mr. Cahill was joined by Mr. Gao Xianming, President of Liaoning Baosheng Logistics and Bonded Warehouse Co., Ltd., Mr. Yu Changjiang, President of Harbin Guifuren Fur Square (NAFA’s long-term partner), Mr. Pan Zhijun, Chairman of Harbin Logistics Association, William Chen, Vice Chairman of IFF China Office and Cedric Lam, Manager of HK Claveyson Fur Co., Ltd. The group collectively cut the ribbon to the new building, thus beginning the evening’s celebrations.
Top Lot Ceremony
Guests were invited inside for a cocktail reception and a special Top Lot Buyer ceremony. NAFA presented seven top lot plaques to Tong’erpu customers who are key players in this important fur consuming market and production area.
Guests were then ushered up to the second floor for continued celebrations in Beaver Hall (the facility’s largest conference room) for a designer fashion show, featuring garments by Oscar de la Renta and Gianfranco Ferré Furs, among others. NAFA China Brand Manager, Angela Chen, presented the latest Fall/Winter 2017 fur fashion trends. Furthermore, Mr. Cahill revealed the new Chinese edition of FRONTROW Magazine, which includes a special China insert featuring Chinese brands, designers, and fashion.
Comprised of 1800 square meters in the Baosheng Bonded and Logistics Garden, NAFA House will function as an office facility for regional representatives in China. The House is equipped with 4 auction viewing rooms, along with dining and lounge area for customers. Inspired by NAFA’s heritage, NAFA House décor includes artwork illustrating the foundation of Canada as well as original artifacts and photography dating back to the fur trade era and the inception of the Hudson’s Bay Company. NAFA House will allow NAFA’s China team to host customers and events on location and continue to build relationships with industry leaders in the area.
