The fifth annual Remix-Eurasia competition was held in Istanbul, Turkey on November 15. The event began on November 14 with the International Fur Workshop and was followed the next evening by the Remix-Eurasia 2018 Contest Finale and Gala Show. Remix-Eurasia 2018 was organized by the Russian Fur Union, in cooperation with the Turkish Fur Industrialists and Businessmen Association (KSIAD) and the International Fur Federation (IFF). This event provides young designers the opportunity to learn, create and explore their imagination through the use of fur, and to present their designs to the Eastern European fur and fashion media.

The NAFA workshop began as Bobby Poulios, VP of Buyer Relations Europe, greeted the audience of over 100 young designers, students and representatives of fur garment manufacturing companies. Oksana Moroz, Marketing Director for Eastern Europe, made a presentation on “Natural Fur – Responsible Choice and Eco-friendly Resource for Designers and Consumers” with Katia Popova, NAFA Representative in Russia, displaying NAFA technique samples. Ms. Moroz highlighted NAFA and the use of high quality, natural fur as a sustainable and fashionable resource in the latest fur fashion trends for the coming season. Ms. Moroz also represented NAFA as a judge in the next day’s competition.

The year’s finalists, representing Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Turkey and Belarus, each created striking, creative designs. All participants were awarded with special diplomas recognizing their efforts, but the competition winners also received additional prizes.
