NAFA’s 2018 selling season opened today to a full auction room representing an international attendance of over 370 buyers hailing from all major markets. NAFA, however, is especially gratified to host at this sale a record number of buyers and companies from Korea.
Today’s sale kicked off with an offering of 360,000 Demi Brown male mink. Initially, there was cautious bidding as buyers sought to test recent market levels. As a result, NAFA adopted a strict selling policy to hold values and maintain levels. This resulted in a 70% clearance of fresh goods at very firm prices.
A similar quantity offering of Demi Brown female mink followed and sold over 86% at price levels that were also very firm to slightly advancing under highly competitive bidding.
A collection of over 77,000 Palomino male and female mink sold-out at prices that were fully firm on the males and slightly advancing on the females.
The biggest buyer in today’s mink sale was China, with strong support from Korea.
NAFA’s offering of 74,000 Coyotes wrapped up today’s sale and as expected, sold 100% at prices that advanced more than 20% overall under strong competition from Hong Kong, China and Europe. Semi-heavy sections of Coyotes saw even further advances of over 30%.
NAFA’s February/March sale continues tomorrow with Silverblue, Sapphire, Blue Iris and Mutation mink.
