  • While visiting all buyers, visitors and guests are asked to carry their identification cards. Please carry this card in a visible location at all times. Identification cards are issued at the Buyer Registration desk as part of the check-in process.

New Buyers: Why should you come to NAFA auctions?

We are the world’s largest ‘shopping mall’ for fur. Only at NAFA can you purchase the complete spectrum of ranch and wild fur species. Our auctions include:

  • The largest quality offering of North American Mink: Black, Mahogany and Demi-Brown mink;
  • The largest offering of superior quality Black Mink under the renowned Black NAFA label;
  • A large and diverse offering of all varieties of European Mink, including a premium offering of top quality Mahogany and Demi-Brown mink under NAFA’s quality label;
  • The largest offering of North American mutation mink: Blue Iris, Sapphire, Violet, Pearl, Pastel and White North American Mink;
  • The largest, finest and most diverse offering of Wild Fur in the world: Raccoon, Beaver, Coyote, Fisher, Otter, Lynx, Lynx Cat, Can/Am Sable, Wild Mink, Red/Cross and Grey Fox Musquash, as well as Squirrel Ermine, Badger, Opossum, Nutria, Ringtails, Skunk, Bear, Wolf and Wolverine.

New Accounts

The first time buyer to NAFA will need to open an account with Buyer Services. The prospective buyer should contact NAFA Buyer Services directly by phone/fax or email prior to the sale. In addition to providing credit information, a 35% deposit will be required to be received in advance of the sale. This amount is calculated on the client’s intended dollar amount of purchases. The deposit may be sent by check, wire transfer, or by Letter of Credit opened by an approved bank.

All purchases not paid in full by Prompt Date require a minimum deposit of 35% of the invoice value to be received by Prompt Date. Goods will be held in accordance with the current clearance requirements published in the front of every auction catalogues. Storage charges and interest on the unpaid invoice balance will be charged from the Prompt Date at the established rates.

Communications

Computer centres are available throughout the building at no charge for buyers.  The NAFA building also has a wireless network with access points throughout including the auction room, allowing visitors to easily access the internet from their laptops.

Cell phones are also available to buyers upon request for those who wish to be able to make and receive long distance calls both within and outside of the building.  Charges will be added to buyer accounts and must be settled with the payment of invoices.  Reservations for cell phones must be made well in advance with Buyer Services. Phone cards are also available upon request.

Travelling to Canada

Requirements for entrance into Canada

As of March 15, 2016, Canada Customs requires an on-line application to be completed prior to entering Canada by air, called an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA). This requirement applies to all countries that do not require a Visa to enter Canada (i.e. UK, Holland, Greece, Denmark, Italy, Poland, Germany, Hong Kong, etc.). U.S. citizens do not require an ETA.

It is a simple on-line process – the cost is $7 Canadian – you need a valid passport, an e-mail address and a credit card to apply. The ETA is electronically linked to your passport and is valid for five years, or until your passport expires, whichever comes first.

Hotel and Car Reservations

Hotel Reservations and Car Rentals

Hotel reservations and car rentals can be requested by registration form or fax 416-675-6865. A valid credit card number with expiry date is required to make all reservations, however guests pay the hotel directly at check out by either credit card or cash.

NAFA is conveniently located near Toronto’s Pearson International Airport and has several hotels within walking distance of the auction. A NAFA shuttle is available from these hotels to the NAFA building. All of the hotels also have an airport pickup. Please note that the NAFA shuttle cannot pick up at the airport due to security restrictions.

There are many additional hotels available in the centre of Toronto located near the entertainment and restaurant districts; however shuttle service is not available to these hotels. Taxi services or a car rental will be required.
