New Fair Concept Brings Success to Designers during Milan Fashion Week
March 6, 2017 (Toronto, Canada) – On the evening of February 24, 2017, NAFA sponsored the highly anticipated Grand Finale of the Italian Fur Fashion Night kicking off the opening day of TheOneMilano in Milan.
Over 1,000 fashion notables and industry leaders gathered at the Milanese Military School on Via Marco Burigozzo to view the FW17 fur collections. Showcasing the best of Italian design using the highest quality NAFA furs, this year’s finale collection featured designs by some of Italy’s top fur designers, including Gianfranco Ferré Furs, Diego M, Fabio Gavazzi, Giorgio Magnani Luxury, Grandifur, Pajaro, Rindi, as well as Malamatì and Oscar de la Renta.
“The designs we see in Milan are always inspiring and innovative, they set the tone for the season ahead.” said Rob Cahill, NAFA’s Senior Vice-President of Marketing. “Each piece made a statement on the runway through edgy metallic and colour techniques, mixed materials or modern silhouettes.”
A total of 18 looks closed the runway show, including Fabio Gavazzi’s metallic silver raccoon parkas, Grandifur’s charcoal mink trench coat and mixed, knit & raccoon poncho, Gianfranco Ferré’s blue-hued floor length vests of mink and raccoon and Pajaro’s embellished, honey marten jackets.
“There was so much diversity and craftsmanship between fur types this year,” said Cahill. “NAFA will continue to support great fur design to ensure the global spotlight is here in Milan each season.”
Prior to the Gala Show, The International Fur Federation (IFF) held the 2017 REMIX presentation, highlighting 10 finalists from around the world.
