NAFA & WFSC Dazzle Trappers at Rendez-Vous

Over 8,000 trappers gathered in Owatonna, Minnesota for the annual National Trappers Association (NTA) summer “rendezvous.”  The event took place August 2-5, 2012, and was one of the largest gatherings in the history of the National Trappers Association.

NAFA had tremendous presence with a large booth in the main hall that was administered by Brian MacMillan, NAFA Vice Present – US wild Fur Operations and Dave Bewick, NAFA General Manager – Fur Operations Western Canada and Executive Director of WFSC.   Joining them were Directors of the Wild Fur Shippers’ Council;  Representatives from the NAFA offices in Stoughton, Toronto and Winnipeg and Collectors and Agents from six regions.

The WFSC hosted its very popular catfish fry on Friday evening.  Over 400 of NAFA’s dedicated shippers were treated to the tasty dinner prepared on site by Council Directors and members.

The highlight of the 4-day event for many was the NAFA fashion show.  WFSC Director, Arnold Groehler took to the stage to welcome guests at the two shows presented on Saturday.

Diane Benedetti, NAFA’s Sr. Vice President–Marketing, briefly introduced NAFA’s marketing program and then shared fashion insights and manufacturing techniques with the trappers as models paraded down the catwalk in a fabulous array of designer furs, current fashion trends and even student innovations.

As guests departed they displayed pride in being apart of this world of fashion and praised NAFA for all of the support that the company gives wild fur trappers through its marketing programs around the world.
