Northern Lights Returns to the Beijing Stage
It wasn’t just about fur …although the mix of fur species, colors and texture caught everyone’s attention. The Northern Lights 2012 collection was about fun, fantasies and the feeling of just being young and beautiful.
This latest collection of NAFA wild furs was featured as the closing scene in the Beijing Fur& Leather Fair gala show held on January 10, 2012 in the Grand Ballroom of the massive China National Convention Center in Beijing. Over 800 guests gathered for the elegant cocktail reception and show.

The Northern Lights project was launched at the Beijing Fair in 2010 and brought immediate attention to the role of wild fur in producing garments for the young consumer who wanted to enjoy the luxury of fur but demanded that it be both affordable and suitable for a fast paced, ever changing lifestyle.
Taking to the catwalk in Beijing were garments of beaver, coyote, raccoon, muskrat and fox. Whether natural or dyed in the season’s latest color trends of purples and blues, these furs were short, combined with textiles and definitely versatile. The young, trendy fashionistas will find these designs adaptable for work or play.

Young designers in three countries worked with manufacturers to create the garments that were highlighted in the gala show. Tzinterpel SA from Greece introduced their new brand, “2 ICE”. From Canada came “My Wild” designed by Farley Chado for Four Seasons Fur and Japanese designer brand, “Beny Baido” was offered by Zhejiang Cheng Xiang Fur Clothing Co., Ltd. of China.
The Northern Lights project will continue to expand as the year progresses and manufacturers and retailers who are interested in joining this youth movement are invited to contact NAFA for further details.
